Cigarette Boxes
Paper, Digital Collage, Cigarettes
When working with Dr. Crystal Marconet and her research team, we wanted to highlight how lung cancer forms on a cellular level. Dr. Marconett and her team are researching how a specific gene, LNCC0261, can aid in treating lung cancer. Through the use of lung tumor scans, l was able to create a piece that not only shows how and why lung cancer affects the body but also ways it can be treated. Each of the cigarette boxes artwork shows different stages of lung cancer. The first shows an entirely healthy lung, the second a lung with cancer and being treated using the LNCCO261 gene, and the lasta lung with untreated lung cancer. The cigarette boxes themselves represent the main cause of lung cancer today: smoking.
